bullet  General Notes:

Per The Ebert Family of Northern Lehigh County
Johannes was probably born in the late 1740's before the family came to Heidelberg. When his father died he got part of his father's land. In 1785 he owned 190 acres in Heidelberg and 19 acres in Lowhill. In 1789 he erected a grist mill in what is now the lower part of the village of Pleasant Corner. On September 20, 1797 he deeded some or all of his property to his son Johannes Ebert, Jr.

In the Revolutionary War he was enrolled in the 5th class, 7th company 3rd battalion (later changed to 6th battalion) Northampton County Militia from the western portion of Heidelberg township. In may 1781 he was on active duty in Captain George Smether's company in the campaign against the Indians. His name was on the Heidelberg tax lists from 1762 to 1788 and he was listed in the U.S. Census of 1790, 5-1-5. He died in 1815, and his will was probated in Lehigh County (#129)

His wife's name was Maria Susanna Unknown (maiden name not known) and 3 of their children were baptized by Rev. Daniel Schumacher who entered the baptisms in his private record, before the church record was started
