The 1850 Census shows Samuel as a farmer in East Penn Township, Carbon Co., Pennsylvania with land worth $2000. He is with children but his wife is not present. The 1860 US census shows him there at age 62 still with several of his children. It also indicates in 1860 he was a carpenter.

I might have found the parents etc of Samuel Ruch m Sarah Rehrig I was on the Pedigree Research Site for the LDS FaimlySearch
There were 4 trees that started with Samuel. They have sources etc of 4 different CD's. I am writing letters to the submitters but thought I would buy the CD's anyway, they run $5 each.
