General Notes: Wilson prepared for college at the Lehighton Academy and graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1879. Entering the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, he completed his course in 1882, being ordained as a minister of the Lutheran Church in June of the same year. Immediately after his ordination he located in Girardville where he organized a mission. Upon his resignation in 1887 he had gathered a self-sustaining congregation of more than three hundred members. He assumed charge of a country parish at Greenville, Mercer Co. Later he became pastor of the Church of Thiel College where he was acting German professor of the college besides being an instructor in various other subjects. Wilson married Margaret M English on Feb 26, 1884. (Margaret M English was born on an unknown date and died on an unknown date.) |
