General Notes:
From Vikki Henry
Jacob Riffle was killed shortly before his second child was born. The entry of his death in the register reads "Riffel, George Jacob, more than twenty years of age; married two years ago; a certain Daniel Starr taking him, so he said, for a deer, shot him dead; may this victim be the last in these most fateful times! Buried May 23, 1775." Historical perception of these notes is this was in reference to violent prejudice against Catholics as they were perceived to be loyal to France not England.
George married Elizabeth Henrich, daughter of Christian Henrich Sr. and Mary Margaret Unknown, on May 16, 1773 in Christian Henrich's House 434.,435 (Elizabeth Henrich was born before 1752 in Bally, Washington Twp, Berks Co., Pennsylvania and died on an unknown date.)
Marriage Notes:
From Vikki Henry Elizabeth married George Jacob Riffle at her father's house. No witnesses were listed in the marriage record. Elizabeth was married at her father's house at same time that her brother Philip married Elizabeth Weibel.
