In Orphans Curt John's older Brothers Danile, Godfrey and Henry received generous portions of land. When John's smaller portion was offered he refused it but no reason is given for the refusal.

John married Elizabeth Andreas, daughter of Martin Andreas and Anna Reber, before 1804 in Neffs, Pennsylvania. (Elizabeth Andreas was born on Oct 29, 1787 in Neffs, Pennsylvania and died on Feb 22, 1839.)
