Mary Daley Obituary

Mary A. (Daley) Varrick, 93, of Manchester, widow of Charles M. Varrick, died Friday, February 13, 2004, at Hartford Hospital, Hartford.
Born in South Windsor on July 22, 1910, daughter of the late Barney and Eva (Petraitis) Daley, she had lived in East Hartford and South Windsor before moving to Manchester three years ago. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, South Windsor.
She leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles E. and Barbara Varrick of South Windsor, and Robert J. and Janet Varrick of Manchester; a daughter, Mary V. Gallant of Bolton; three sisters, Eva Stone of Virginia, Helen Kupchunos of Manchester, and Josephine McGee of Barre, Mass.; nine grandchildren, Christine Dewing, Louise Clark, Marlene Gallant, Matthew Gallant, Sharon Kinney, Jill Fletcher, Lois Shrivastava, Tracy Kennedy, and Scott Varrick; 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mary's family will greatly miss her love and devotion. She was predeceased by four brothers and a sister, Frank, Barney, John, and Anthony Daley and Ann Slowick.
Mary was devoutly religious, a gardener who loved flowers, an avid reader, a talented needle worker, and an ardent Scrabble player. Appreciation is extended to the residents and staff at West Hill Gardens Congregate for their friendship, kindness, and caring.
Family and friends may gather, Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:30 a.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, South Windsor, at the convenience of the family.
Her family will receive friends, Monday, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home.
