  General Notes:

Mary Terry (Nana) told me in 1980 That Stephen Basett and Elizabeth Allen were the parents of Emma Emily. I am still trying to prove beyond a doubt the relationships. So far I have mostly Census records.

It appears as if they lived in Plattsburg in 1850 and before 1860 moved to Sandy Hill New York (part of Kingsbury). It appears as if Stephen married Elizabeth and she died before 1860. He evidentally remarried Emily Adams between 1860 and 1863.

1850 Census Plattsburg, Clinton, New York, USA family number 479 name is spelled Brisset

The 1860 Census shows Stephen as Stephen Bazett on Pg 21 of the Sandy Hill, Kingsbury, Washington Co. NY book

The Death Certificates for Moses Terry and Zenaford Terry list Emma Emily's last name as Bassett and Bissett respectively. We have no firm documentation of his last name.

The 1875 New York State Census shows Steven as age 58 a Sawmill Hand. He was Naturalized and is a Landowner living in a wood framed house.

Stephen next married Elizabeth Allen before 1841. (Elizabeth Allen was born about 1821 in Canada ¹²⁹ and died before 1860 in New York.)
